ホークスアイ（ブルータイガーアイ）はタイガーアイと同じクロシドライトが珪酸で固まったもので、鉄分が酸化したものをタイガーアイ、鉄分が酸化していないものをホークスアイと呼びます。この名称は、これをカボション・カットすると光線の反応で、まるで動く鳥（鷹）のような眼に見えることに由来します。色はクロシドライト（青石綿）本来の灰青色をしています。
この石をずっと持っていればタイガーアイになるかと言えばそんなことはなく、その過程においては相当長い時間が必要と思われます。エネルギー的な特性についてはホークスアイとタイガーアイとではかなり違います。ホークスアイはやや冷静さと判断力を高める力が強い分、タイガーアイに比べて活性作用が弱い傾向があります。
